IMMIGRATION: Came from the Netherlands to Fort Orange (now Albany) NY abt 1660/1663.

NAME: De Duyster eventually became "ye Duitcher", the Dutchman, and later Dutcher. Roelof also known as "Van Heerden," or from Heerden, a very small village about 30 miles N.N.E. from Arnheim in Gelderland, Holland.

RECORDS: 22 Mar 1663, at Beverwyck (now Albany) NY, borrowed 504 fl. ($100.80) from Hend. Hendricksen at 10%, repayable in July; 23 Mar 1663, at Beverwyck sold a lot with a cellar and the shed over it to Geurt or Gerrit Hendrickszen for 275 guilders; 23 Sep 1663, became members of Brooklyn NY Church (he and his wife had moved to Brooklyn from Beverwyck); 6 Mar 1667 his wife Willempje was sponsor with Resolved Waldron. Roelof died soon after.
