Source: Delores Straight a descendant furnished data on the descendants of Ida and James. James moved with his family to Wetzel Co., and later about 1879 to Spring Creek, Reedy Dist., Roane Co., WV. In 1917 James L. moved his family to Belleville, Harris Dist. Wood, Co., WV. James L. next moved to Akron, OH where some of the Straights had already gone to work in the rubber shops. James L. lived on Barnes Road, in the town of Tallmadge, Summit County, OH when he died of TB in 1926. He was buried in Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron. Ida Mandy was buried in Greenlawn near the Eagles monument near Acie Clarence Straight.

James married Anna Letitia "Annie" Gough, daughter of Albert L. Gough and Nancy Elizabeth Board, on 28 Apr 1889 in , Roane County, West Virginia. (Anna Letitia "Annie" Gough was born on 21 Sep 1869 and died on 11 Sep 1892.)
