Joseph secured marriage license at All Hollows Parish, Anne Arundel County, MD 1 Oct 1738 from Gov. Samuel Ogle. Shortly after they established their home at Little Meadows, situated on the west side of Meadow Mountain and est of Chestnut Ridge on the old National Road, about three miles east of Grantsville in present day Garrett County. The were living here when General Braddock's army came through in June of 1755 and camped on their farm.
