Rodolphus is believed to have moved to the Lewidsport area in late 1825. Susannah inherited 214 acres of her father's land after his death in 1813, and Rodolphus purchased part of the John Lewis homestead in Lewis Bottom along the river east of Lewisport in 1834. In all Rodolphus owned 501 acres of land in Hancock Co. and 218 acres across the river in Spencer Co., IN.
Rhodolphus married Susannah Rebecca Lewis, daughter of John Lewis Jr. and Hannah Eskridge Lewis, on 15 Dec 1825 in , Nelson, Kentucky. (Susannah Rebecca Lewis was born about 5 Aug 1805, died on 26 Sep 1846 in ,Hancock,Kentucky and was buried in Greathouse Cemetery On Lee Henderson Road,Hancock,Kentucky.)
