A note on Emmaline Greathouse and William Powell is that after she
died, he abandoned the children and moved across the county to live
among some other Welsh descended folks that had come to Mason Co.
as coalminers, working the old mines along the Ohio River. The children,
the older ones in their teens continued to live in their home and tried
to get by as best as they could. They quickly married off, the girls
especially,as soon as they reached a decent age. It is still somewhat of a family
tragedy .
