Per Melba Neal made the run with Stella and "uncle Elisa" into the cherokee strip. I remember Grandpa talking about it a time or two. He was 10 at the time.(Lynn Leonard)
They lined up their horses and homesteaded outside Renfro near Enid Oklahoma.
Further Grandpa (Sidney Neal) used to show us where the Chisolm trail crossed the Greathouse farm. We could still see the wagon ruts when I was a child.
