Elzie Parish Freeman ^{1 3}

  Notes:

Elzie died in a fairly minor car crash. He was driving a car with a wooden steering wheel and steering wheel shaft. The steering wheel broke off and he was impaled on the steering shaft.
Elzie's body arrived in Anson by train. The whole family met the train and then Elzie lay in state in the family living room. Melbadine was a very small girl and she recalls "Uncle Zan" lifting her up so she could see Elzie in the coffin. She was amazed by the silver dollars on his eyes.
