General:
Source: Larry Robert Greathouse, a descendant. He reported that his grandfather Robert Guy Maxwell Greathouse, Sr. arrived in Tampa Florida in 1916 where he joined the Florida Militia that was called up and served in France in 1917. Larry has no record of him until 1923 when he once again showed up in Tampa with a wife who was from Cape Girardeau, MO. He died at the age of 48 in 1940 from the result of injuries suffered in the war. Larry's aunt said that it is possible that Robert was adopted in Tampa, Florida when he was 17. Larry said he did not know if this were true as his father never said anything about it.
