Speculation: Rufus C. Greathouse could be the son of either Paul Williams Greathouse who had a son Rufus born about 1856 probably in Alabama, or the son of Jairus Greathouse born about 1858 in Illinois or Kansas. Until we have further documentaion we will show in the Orphan File.
