General:
Source: Donna Lester - Oat Llewellyn was a coal miner and owned and operated three shaft mines near Mt. Olive Church. The first two mines were located SE of the church and the last was 1/2 mile north of church just a few hundred yards from the house that his wife was raised in. The last mine was operated with his two sons, Fred and Bill, and burned in the mid 1950's. The Llewellyn mine North of Mount Olive Church is the mine that burned. The last mine that Donna's grandfather, Arthur Llewellyn, operated was the Scheider Mine South of Bevier. The Scheider Mine is staill standing in 2006, and it is owned by Donna Lester and her husband Jerry.
