Funeral Tuesday for Charles S.Thompson, Methodist Leader

Burial service for a 27 year resident of Elmhurst, Charles S. Thompson, 62 of 378 May St., Elmhurst, was held Tuesday afternoon at Mt. Emblem cemetery. The funeral was held at the Elmhurst Methodist Church. The Rev. Frank Countryman officiated at both services.

Mr. Thompson died at his home last Saturday of a heart attack. He had lived in Elmhurst since 1928, when he moved here from Vinton, Ia. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, and lay leader of the Elmhurst Methodist church. He was employed as chief engineer of the Union Special Machine Co. of Chicago.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Thompson of Elmhurst; his daughter, Mrs. Marjorie F. Kriekard of Niagara, Wis., and his son, Charles Thompson Jr. of Bloomingdale, N.J.

He is survived also by his three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bender, Vinton, Iowa; Mrs. Florence Hilliard, Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Ruth Bort,Fort Laurderdale, Fla.

Note Sandy Taylor: Ruth Bort never lived in Fort Lauderdale. She lived in St. Petersburg Florida at the time of Charles death.
