CONFLICT: According to Charles E. Stickney in the WANTAGE RECORDER no. 27, "The Old Mine Road," pub. from 14 July 1911 through 19 Jan 1912 and gathered by Leonard R. Peck, Sparta NJ, Port Jervis NY Library, R974.73(old), Jacob was "probably" born in Holland and was employed in New Amsterdam in 1633. Stickney said that Jacob and his wife Mary Simons lived in Kingston and had eight children. It is possible that Jacob was born in Holland but not that he was employed in the new world in 1633--this perhaps was his father Barent Jacobsyen.
