The 1900 census for Roane Co., does not list Joseph as living in the household of Samuel and Mary Catherine, rather it lists a Lonzo D. Greathouse age 2 mo. This age would agree with the age that Joe would have been at that time. The 1910 census shows Joseph age 10 years but no Lonzo. in 1920 it shows Lonzo but no Joseph. David Snyder a descendant thinks Joseph and Lonzo are one and the same person. On his mother's birth certificate Joe is not listed as being her father, instead "L.D. Greathouse is entered as husband of Zanna Rose Greathouse and father of Helen Katherine Greathouse, my mom". 1
Joseph married Zanna Rose Perkins, daughter of James Perkins and Leonety Nutter. (Zanna Rose Perkins was born on 9 Aug 1903 in , Braxton County, West Virginia and died on 15 Nov 1967 in Glassaway, , West Virginia.)
