Sabina Josephine Livers
Source: John D. Greathouse. They were married when Isaac was barely eighteen and Sabina only seventeen years and nine months. Isaac's mother, Catharine, was extremely opposed to this marriage for two reasons. (1) Since her own ancestry went back to the aristocratic families the Warings and the Paynes of Virginia, she considered Sabina a 'commoner' and (2) Catherine's family all being staunch Protestants, she had difficulty accepting the fact that Sabina was Roman Catholic.
Sabina married Isaac Ridgley Greathouse, son of John Stull Greathouse and Catherine Roberta Waring, on 1 Sep 1870. (Isaac Ridgley Greathouse was born on 13 Jul 1852 in Uniontown, Kentucky and died on 10 Jan 1935 in Strausberg, Virginia.) |
