Roy Livingston Greathouse

Source: Chris Bailey and Margaret Demarco. Chris reported that Roy as the illigitimate child of Nancy Elizabeth Greathouse and born in IN not IL. He was a Corporal, Co.A., 362 Infantry, 91st Division, USA. He served in France where he saw a great deal of action. Ten times he "went over the top", each time returning safely. The eleventh time, during the advance on Chateau Thierry, Aug 13, 1918 he was severely wounded, losing his arm and suffering serious injuries to his throat. He died as a result of strangulation caused by these injuries, while on duty at the Blake Creek Ranger Station in the Big Snowy Mountains.
