He was home from the nursing home. Some members of the family was talking about going hunting. Flavia who had Parkinson's disease decided he was going hunting to kill a deer. He fell stepping off of the porch and the gun went off.
Flavia married Macel Hall, daughter of Erastas Harvy Hall and Lucy Della Greathouse, on 2 Feb 1944 in Richwood, Nicholas County, West Virginia.
