Doris Gott Greathouse, 80, of Bowling Green, died at 10:03 p.m. March 20, 2011, at the Hospice Center. The Warren County native was a retired member of Iam and Eaton Corp. and was a farmer.
She was a daughter of the late Pierce and Sue Gott and the wife of the late Hulen Greathouse. She was preceded in death by a son, Barry Nelson Greathouse; and Earl Jetter, who lived nine years after receiving Barry's heart.
At her request, there is no visitation. She requested to be cremated and have her remains buried with her husband and son at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A private memorial service is at 2 p.m. April 10 at Berea Christian Church, where she was a member, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Warren County Humane Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Joy Bone and her husband, Gerald, of Elizabethtown; and a sister-in-law, Marie Greathouse, of Bowling Green, three grandsons, Joel Greathouse, who she raised, and his wife, Dr. Melissa Greathouse, Jonathan Marshall and Cody Cordell, all of Bowling Green; a foster son, Ronnie Cole and his wife, Karen, of Bowling Green; a brother, Aubrey Gott and his wife, Betty, of Bowling Green; a foster granddaughter, Dr. Christy Cole Harpring and her husband, Brian, of Savannah, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle Greathouse, Alylisa Cordell and J.T. Marshall; two stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; special friends, Joan Howell, Phillis Hines, Ray Cordell, Steve Trosper and her beloved and faithful little dog, Baxter; two nieces, Margaret May and Patty Sledge; four nephews, Billy, Jimmie, Bobby and Richard Gott; and two sisters-in-law, Louise Rolena and Richard Gott.
