Amye died at ten years old. Bitha and her were walking home from school and it was raining and cold. Bitha wanted to do something else and they were in the rain for a period of time. Amye caught cold and died. Bitha always felt guilty about that. -Bob Richardson

Amye Greathouse Dead
Amye Itasca Greathouse, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Greathouse died at her home about 7 miles noth of Aurora, Saturday, October 31, 1914. Amye was born in Barry County, April 14, 1904. Her age was 10 years , 6 mos, 17 days. She leaves a mother and father, five sisters and four brothers to mourn their loss. Her mother and father, four sisters and one brother were at her bed side when death came.

Now her gentle voice is stilled
A vacant place in the school room
That never can be filled.
Darling Amye how we miss her
Pride of all our hearts and home
But an angel flowing lightly
Went and whispered "Amye come."
