"The family moved to Saline County, NE where Ercell grew up and attended school near Swasnton, NE. The family moved to Waldona in 1917. Here Ercell met Russell Rigsby. She told her grandchildren that she was riding horseback across the prarie when she first met him and liked what she saw so she just roped him and took him home. The Greathouse family moved to Venango, NE in 1919 and later Russell moved to Venango to work for Ercell's faher. Ercell and Russell were married in Holyoke on Jan 22, 1924.
