William Stewart, Sr. was born in Monongalia County in 1802 and moved to Jackson County where he married some 28 years later. He is reported to have moved to Mason Co about 1846 and is on the 1860 census there. The 1870 census has William and Mary and many of their children living on farms in Union Twp of Mason Co.
