Notes:
Name: Letter 19 Nov 1997 Pat Greathouse gives surname as Schultz. Name: Wm. Greathouse notes-Barbara maiden name spelled in various ways--Statzin,Shatzin, Schultz,Scultz, etc. Name: Lois Gindlesperger shows maiden name as Shultz. Name: Susan DeHart furnished copy of pages 5l-54 from an unknown book Titled SCHUTZ. It describes how the Frankford Company, of eight shareholders acquired up to 25,000 acres of land in the colonies and relates that Dr. Johann Jakob Schutz was one of the shareholders. In "The Pensylvania German in the Revolutionary War" 1775-1783 by H.M.M. Richards p. 456, we find that the Sheetz (Schutz, Sheets, Schultes, Shoots, spelled many different ways depending upon the English recorder who was trying to anglisize the name) family is descended from Dr. Johann Jacob Schut, a native of Germany. It also states that Dr. Schutz never came to America but that his son Henry (Henrick) did, first going to Germantown then later settling in Whitemarsh Township in Montgomery Co.
Source: Melissa Holgate refers to an article "The Back Part of Germantown, A Reconstruction" written by Hannah Benner Roach and pub. in the Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine, Vol XX, no.2, 1956 (this article is 72 pages in length. pgs 77-149) Page 83 relates the coming to PA of Michael Schutz and his marriage to Julianna Lips. This is one more version of the spelling of the surname Schutz we use.
Anna married Wilhelm Groethausen, son of John Johann Adolph Groethausen and Amelia Miller, in Mar 1750 in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. (Wilhelm Groethausen was born in 1724 in Springfield Manor, Germantown, Pennsylvania 1 and died on 25 Mar 1792 in Zack's Run, Harrison, West Virginia 1.)
