from Earl Greathouse:
Gilson, my father's father, left home when my father, Richard, was about 1 year old. Jeanette Christian Greathouse, Gilson's wife; lived with us most of my young life, but I never learned any family history from her, only about her children. After Gilson left home, he was never heard from again. We have no idea what happened to him. Early census reports, which I have, indicated that he moved to Texas with his family, from Arkansas. 73
