Source: Earl Greathouse: Also, on the same 1870 census list, the family next door to Archibald and Sarah is John M. Greathouse along with his wife Virginia and their 6 children: Napoleon B., Bolivar, John A., James W., Tula, and Tennessee. I believe this John M (possibly Millage) may be a brother or cousin to Archibald, since I have some information from somewhere that Archibald and a John M.'s parents were John Greathouse and Rebecca Williams Greathouse. There are a lot of John Greathouses out there.

The quirk in all this research comes by the fact that there is another Archibald Greathouse (22 years older than our Archibald D.), with his wife Mary Ann, and their 8 children Levisa, John B., George W., Joel W., Malissa A., Hubbard, Elijah J., and Margaret E.. This older Archibald was born in Georgia and moved to Ellis, Navarro Co., Texas. They also previously lived in Tennessee and Arkansas. He may be an uncle to our Archibald D.
