JOHN A(llen) GREATHOUSE
John A. Greathouse, 81, died early Monday morning at his residence at
1708 West Sixth street. He is survived by his widow; three daughters,
Mrs. E. Claude Gilliland, Mrs. Lea A. Dill, and Mrs. Lewis B. Burr; two
sons, Thad A. Greathouse and Edwin M. Greathouse; a sister, Mrs. Tennie
Hessey; and seven grandchildren, all of Austin.
Mrs. Greathouse had been a resident of Austin for more than 60 years;
for many years he was engaged in contracting and building. On Dec. 12,
1894, he was married to Miss Lucy Robinson at the old Robinson home at
1601 East First street.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. W. R. Minter, pastor of
the First Southern Presbyterian church at the Thurlow Weed funeral home
at 5 p. m. Tuesday, and interment will be in Oakwood cemetery. (End)
