Mrs. Maggie Doraina Mims Died at Home Saturday.
Mrs. Maggie Doraina Mims, 63, wife of John J. Mims, died at her home on Louisville, Route 3, Saturday, July 3, [1948] following an illness of only a few days. The deceased was the daughter of John Green and Sally Mann, pioneer residents of the county. Funeral services were held at Bethsaida Church, being conducted by Rev. W.T. James of Eufaula, and Rev. Stafford Scroggins, of Union Springs. Dowling Funeral Home of Clayton was in charge with S. B. Godwin directing.
Pallbearers were Bradford Green, Dothan; Bill Pittman, Eufaula, J.R. Thorne, Union Springs; Lant[ie] Mims, Hartford; Hamp Williamson and Gerald Greene of Louisville.Mrs. Mims is survived by her husband J.J. Mims, Louisville RFD., one son Sollie Mims, Clayton RFD, one brother and a number of half brothers and sisters; 18 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
