Medical:

Mattie McLaney died on 3 May 1974 in Eufaula, as a result of a brain hemorrhage she had suffered at the home of Huey Lee Sanders, (where she had went to use the telephone to call her son "Pete" who was expecting his first child, Danny, that week) while staying with her son and daughter -in law, Johnny and Gwen McLaney, after the birth of her grandchild, Shad McLaney.
