LOIS ELIZA FULLER - wife of the late Elder I. J. Fuller and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Greathouse was born in Edwards county, Illinois, April 15, 1848 and passed away at her home in West Salem on Edwards 14, 1930 at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 29 days. She was united in marriage to I. J. Fuller on January 23, 1870. To this happy union four children were born, all of whom survive. They are Edgar of West Salem; Emmett of East St. Louis; Loren of Mt. Vernon, Ill. , and Mrs. Lee Duncan of Olney, Ill. After living together for more than 59 years her husband passed away on February 25,1929.
Mrs Fuller united with the Primitive Baptist Church at Long Prairie west of town in the year 1883 and lived a devoted Christian life. A short time ago she was taken sick with a severe cold which developed into bronical (sic) . She patiently bore her suffering and said she would soon pass on to a better home. The children have lost a loving mother and the neighbors a kind and true friend, but their loss is her eternal gain. Besides the above named children she is survived by seven grandchildren, two brother, Thos. and Liberty Greathouse of Prosner, Wash., one half sister Mrs. Addie shoemaker of West Salem; two half brothers, Isaac and Lawrence Greathouse of Idaho; a step-sister, Mrs. Tim Greathouse of west of town and two step-brothers, George and Miles Whitaker of Billings, Okla., besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were hold friends afternoon February 16, conducted by Elder Thomas Jones of Centerville, near Carmi, at the home and thence at the Macedonia church west of town. Interment was made in the cemetery nearby.
