John Clyde Rector, 90, pioneer of Quay County and retired farmer died at 4:20 this morning in St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Davidson of Albuquerque; one niece, Mrs. John Hale of Tucumcari and other relatives.
Mr. Rector homesteaded in the Forrest community in 1906 where he farmed and ranched until his retirement. He then moved to Tucumcari to reside with his niece, Mrs. Hale. Rector later moved to Albuquerque to live with his sister.
The body of Mr. Rector is being returned to Tucumcari by Doughty Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday in the Doughty Funeral Chapel. Dr. B. W. Woods, pastor of the First Baptist church will officiate. Interment will be in the Garden of Prayer in Tucumcari Memorial Park.
The body of Mr. Rector will remain in state at the Doughty Funeral Home from Tuesday morning until funeral time Wednesday.
