Mr. Greathouse left a respectable family, of whom his youngest son, Thomas Greathouse, became a Baptist preacher, of small gifts, and a teacher and composer of vocal music."

Ann Gemima Williams, called Angie, was born circa 1838 and married in 1854 to Reverend Thomas Greathouse, a minister and schoolteacher born 1822. Their children were Marietta born 1857, Sanders S. born 1859, Fleming E. born 1866 and Lill.

[Revised ed.] Chicago: Lewis Publishing Co., 1919, c1918. 5 v. (xlviii, 2530 p., [155] leaves of plates): ill., maps (some fold.), ports.; 27 cm. describes" Thomas S. Greathouse, who, as above noted, was a settler and homesteader in Finney County the year following his son. Thomas S. Greathouse was born in Warren County, Kentucky, in 1820. He was a man of splendid influence and accomplishment wherever he lived."... Among other lines of activities and responsibilities which he carried were those of preaching as a Missionary Baptist local minister. He knew his Bible and could quote long chapters of it from memory. Both he and his sons were republicans.
