She was born probably in Monroe county Iowa or possibly in Lucas county Iowa. As a girl, Eliza Jane McMulin left Iowa with her parents in 1871 in a covered wagon.and arrived in Kansas in the spring of 1872 . They settled on a claim, 1 1/2 miles south and one mile east of what is now Anson, Kansas or about one mile north of what was the settlement of Austin. . Their claim was one-half mile east of the Henry Anderson Seitz claim. She died after a gallstone operation at the Wichita Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. 4
