Source: Vivian M. Taylor - In 1904 he was elected prosecutor for the Eleventh Judicial District (Posey and Gibson counties). A few years later he was elected State Senator to represent the First District. He was chosen president pro tempore of the State Senate and floor leader in 1913. Overwork led to failing health by 1915, and he died in 1917. 9
