He was shown as age 30-40 in the 1830 census of Hardeman Co.,TN. He was married Dec. 28, 1817, in Franklin County, TN to Rebecca Williams, b. abt 1796 in GA, daughter of Bolivaar Paul Williams and Lucy Donohoe.
John served as a private in the 2nd Regiment, Tenn. Volunteers during the War of 1812.
