"William T. Greathouse, 64 years old, died at 6:20 o'clock last night in St John's hospital of a complication of ailments. Mr. Greathouse, whose home was at 1920 East Seventh Street, had been a patient in the hospital for several days. He had lived in Joplin since 1925, coming here from Springfield and was a member of I.O.O.F. lodge there 30 yeaqrs. His body was removed to the Knell mortuary at Cartage.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Greathouse; five daughters, Miss Helen Greathouse, at home, Mrs. Ellen Arnold of Webb City, Mrs. Lucy Willard of Eskridge, Kan., Mrs. Estelle Scott of Salem, Mo., and Mrs. Cloe McDoughall of Upland, Calif.; four sons, Jack Greathouse of Joplin, Keydon Greathouse in the Navy and stationed at SanDiego, Calif,. and Robert and Ray Greathouse of Springfield and 17 grandchildren."
