The 1787-05 Work Group believes that Sarah is a transcription error, that it may have been because Harmon's son Harmon Jr. was present with his wife Sarah at the probate hearing. MaryAnn was made the executor for the will. The 1787-05 Work Group believes if she were not the wife of Harmon mentioned in the will that something to that effect would have been entered in the probate hearing record. There is no other record of this Harmon every having been married to a Sarah.
Marriage date and location are based on the estimated birth year of first son Harmon born about 1804 in VA. Second son, John W., was born in Washington Co., PA based on census and military records.
