It turns out that Rachel Walser Whitaker Greathouse is the aunt of Rebecca Quigley Greathouse.. And they married half-brothers, Enoch and AJ Greathouse, respectively. • Her obituary was published in 1917. 2 Rebecca E. Greathouse, daughter of Elijah and Eliza Quigley, was born May 14, 1846 and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. George marks on Oct. 29, 1917 at the age of 71 yrs. 5 mos. and 15 days. She was united in marriage to A. J. Greathouse Jan 11 1855 and to this union was born 3 children, Elijah who lives at Allendale Ill. Alta, (Mrs George Marks) who live near West Salem, and Lida who preceeded her mother in death some years ago. He husband also preceeded her in death in the year 1915, Jan 2. Besides the children she also leaves three sisters and other relatives to mourn their loss .As a mother she was kind and indulgent, as a neighbor she was generous, and as a friend sincere. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church, conducted by Rev P. M Bruham ( sp. ?). Burial was made in the family lot in the Moravian Cemetery.
