Notes
Burial Notes:
Source Vivian M. Taylor - Daniel died in Posey County since his estate was probated there. The paperwork (part in Posey County and part in the Indiana State Archives) does not indicate where he was buried. There is no proof of where Daniel is buried. Since Daniel lived with David awhile, it is very probable that Daniel was buried in the Greathouse Family Cemetery, which was on David's land. Not all the tombstones are legible, and the fenced burial area is heavily overgrown with weeds and briars. Not all the graves had markers either. Since Daniel's estate had a negative balance, Daniel probably did not have a tombstone.General:
Source: Vivian M. Taylor - In the 1810 census for Daniel's father John Greathouse, there was a male 26-45, a male 10-16, three girls 0-10, and a boy 0-10. This would be a perfect fit for Daniel and his children.
Source: Vivian M. Taylor - Daniel and his brother John were apparently married while the area where they lived, land that became Jessamine County, was still a part of Fayette County, Kentucky. The Fayette County courthouse, in Lexington, burned about late 1802-early 1803. The extant records begin in 1803. Thus there is no marriage record for Daniel or John.
