Date of birth: Chris Bailey gives date of birth as abt 1763, as given by Greathouse researcher, Ann Ohm of Olney, IL. However Ann did not have record of her source for the date and this compiler could not verify it. This date should not be used unless it can be verified by a period source.

"The middle name Stull is not conclusively proven and his wife's name is Elizabeth and not Ella Elizabeth Rigby"
Source: John D. Greathouse:
Rev. War Soldier, with Washington County, PA Volunteers, company of Charles Bilderback. In 1789 went to Kentucky and settled at Mulberry Creek at Shelbyville. He had eight children, and possibly a ninth son, Samuel, unconfirmed.
Source: History of Washington County, PA by Boyd Cumerine: "On Oct 3, 1785 the Ohio County (W)VA court ordered Robert Woods and Allen Midcalf 'to examine the ability of Isaac Greathouse in the surveying business & make a report to the court.' They reported him capable and he appeared in court and took the oath as Deputy Surveyer of Yohogania County, VA. On May 9, 1785 a tract of 398 acres was surveyed in Ohio County, (W)VA for David Bradford, assignee of John Sappington, by Isaac Greathouse, but this was the only record of survey found for him in Ohio County." Chris gave reference of: Ohio Co.WV Court Order Book, pp 283-284; and Land Survey Book, Ohio County, WW #148.

Isaac Greathouse left a will, but left his property to his wife and only one of his sons, Ridgley, and did not mention his other children. There are no deeds of gift that name his children.
There is no legal proof of Isaac and Elizabeth Greathouse's children, that is, there is no bible record, will, or contempory record that names all of their children.

Was living in Washington County, PA in 1780 and in Harrison Co., WV in 1820.
